Awards for ‘Meaningful Capitalism’ Coming in May

Minnetonka-based Platinum Group recently announced finalists for this year’s Meaningful Capitalism Awards. Honorees will be revealed during a reception May 4, 2023, at the Metropolitan Ballroom and Clubroom in Golden Valley, Minn., from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The awards are meant to celebrate business leaders who are successful at growing and running a financially sustainable business, and do so in ways that tangibly benefit individuals, families and communities.

“Our firm is producing this program in part to honor Platinum Group Founder Dean Bachelor, who passed away in 2021. Dean defined, and had trademarked, our firm’s mission of  Meaningful Capitalism™,” says Platinum Group Partner Bill English. “Dean’s passion was to bring significant meaning to all stakeholders of every client we work with, and to drive their growth and success through capitalism. We recognize and appreciate seeing this same value in other companies and are placing the spotlight on them through this awards program.”

Companies that live out Meaningful Capitalism are consistently profitable; proactive in helping their employees grow personally and professionally; donate a portion of their profits to help those less fortunate participate in the life of the community with dignity and respect; effectively balance the competing interests of the various stakeholder groups; and provide products and services that enable the community to flourish.
